Vocal about Vintage

I prefer to shop vintage or handmade, so I was delighted to find Tron Kirk Market while in Edinburgh.  Then I was equally disappointed to hear that it would be closing. As usual, I was vocal about my feelings.  This time, someone was listening.....  How do you feel about the small businesses in your community?  How can we help keep them open (so I can go shopping ;) )?

Since the Summer of 2014, I have been hosting a quarterly event at my house for lovely ladies in Rome.  They arrive with gently used items to trade and we drink wine while we shop from each other's closets.  It's my favorite event to host because the theme gives us a prompt to tell each other travel stories about the pieces that our suitcases have outgrown.

Each time I host the event I think to myself ' I hope everyone else had as much fun as me'.  Have you ever found an amazing treasure at a clothing swap?  DO TELL!

Celebrations in Cashmere

When I was 8 years old, I started a tradition of writing myself a letter on my birthday. Every year after my 15th birthday, I wrote to myself while wearing these ballet pink pajamas that my grandmother gave to me. This year I added a cashmere wrap from a lovely friend and wrote in quill and ink from Signum Firenze. With old age comes decadence.  Do you have any birthday traditions? Does it also involve cashmere?  — in Rome, Italy.
